It's 10am, Monday morning
I'm sitting on the edge of my bed
Waiting for what's coming
A tragic ballet is soon upon me
These walls I can't call my own
And I'll be left here staring at
unfamiliar surroundings
Tonight.
Tonight.
All of these memories soon to be forgotten
Replaced with a lack of comfort and a sense of loss
I can't help but feel like you're to blame for
this emptiness
Strangers come and go
Taking with them, pieces of my life
All the while giving their most
sincere apologies
I just want today to be over
I've never felt more distant from you
But I've run out of cares and compassion
And I hope things look better in your future
I'll be sure to send my best regards
I'll hold on to what little I have left
As reminders of a better time
And maybe
I'll finally move forward
I'm hoping for nothing but the best outcome
But please just...just...
Just stay away from me.

It's cold outside
Come in, make yourself at home
I'll make some tea
Put a pot on, just for us
And maybe
We'll finally
Get to watching those movies
tonight
Please don't cry
We'll see each other, again real soon
We'll spend this day together
Make it, one last
memory
And maybe
I'll finally
Get that courage to tell you
How I
feel

The Armoire (Owen Cover)

The armoire
That you found by the dumpster
While visiting your sister
It looks fine, in the living room where
The others you've rescued
Go to die
That old mirror by the bed
Without much of anything to reflect
Say for a few holes in a crippled bed post
And shadows that don't move
Cobwebs in the corner
Dead spider on the wall
I'm home, but I'm not home
Boxes in the basement
That were spared, by rising waters
Discarded blood-stained drum skins and sticks
Rest on your mother's mattress
I'm home
But somehow, while I was gone
This house I left for dead lingered on
I'm home with my own family in tow
And everything's the same, but different
And I'm home again, the devils knows I'm born again
But I can't hold these walls up on my own
